If you ask my kids, one of our best trips ever was to Croatia. You might think, of course! What kid wouldn't love those beautiful, sunny, pebble beaches and a week of island hopping around the Adriatic Sea? And you'd probably be right. Who wouldn’t love that? But that wasn't our trip to Croatia at all. We spent seven cold winter days based in Croatia's fascinating capital, Zagreb—and somehow, it became one of our favorite family trips.
